The Absolute Essentials for Reading a Romance Novel
Romance novels, and the reading of, have been my guilty pleasure for a few years now. Recently, I realized that reading romance doesn’t have to be something I hide. In fact, romance is the one genre that is largely created by and for women. How awesome is that?
Romance is just as worthy of reading as any other genre and should be taken just as seriously. For me, a good romance novel pulls me out of reality and into a magical place, whether the novel is fantasy or realistic, historical or modern. Because of this, for me at least, reading romance a multi-sensory experience. So what do you need to make that experience even more worthwhile? Read on to find out!

Comfy clothes to set the mood
When it comes down to it, it’s most important to be comfortable before you start reading your favorite romance novel. But even more than that, reading something sexy might make you feel, well, sexy. So why not set the mood with appropriate clothing?
To be honest, I do most of my reading in bed in an oversized T-shirt and boxers. So I’ve put in a little bit of everything for this category. From sexy, comfy robes, to lazy girl T-shirts. And I even added some lingerie just in case your partner catches you reading your novel of choice and knows how those steamy scenes make you feel.
P. S. Nothing here is 50 Shades inspired. I even get into “toys” a little later in this post. Perhaps that’ll be a post for another day – of course, with recommendations for books that provide much more realistic BDSM relationships and actual depictions of consent.
