Review: A Lady’s Prerogative

Want it now? Order it here!

I received a free copy of Annabelle Anders’ A Lady’s Prerogative in exchange for my honest review. And of course I was happy to comply! There’s nothing I love more than a historical romance novel, especially one that’s full of heat and passion. A Lady’s Prerogative is just that!

A Note

A Lady’s Prerogative is the second book in a series. I haven’t read the first, but from what I’ve read about the first couple’s romance while reading Book 2, I’m excited to check out Nobody’s Lady, too! I’m also excited to see where else this series goes as I’m already shipping a few other couples…

A Memorable Romance

The heat level between Natalie and Garrett is extreme. I loved everything about our heroine and hero. This is a slow burn romance full of plenty of great make-out and messing around scenes. Plus, there’s an adorable puppy! How can you go wrong with that?

My Only Disappointment…

It’s not enough to knock off a star (perhaps 1/4 of a star), but there were a few loose moments that I wanted filled in. (MILD spoilers ahead.) At one point, Natalie’s father acts disappointed in Natalie for her interest in Garrett. But then he seems to get over it completely and approves of Garrett as a son-in-law. Garrett overhears the conversation, and never seems to feel awkward around his father-in-law again. To be honest, I read that scene as Natalie’s father faking her out, playing the old “she’ll be interested in Garrett if I disapprove of him” card. Still, there’s no confirmation of that, which annoyed me.

Also, I would have loved to have seen Natalie and Garrett’s engagement in more detail. More under-the-table fooling around and flirting, please! I know they had to play it safe during their engagement, but the scene in the beginning of the book was steamy enough that it had me wanting more, more, more!

Overall

This was a 5 star read for me. Two five star reads in a row! WOOO!

Get it on Kindle for $6!

A Lady's Prerogative (Lord Love a Lady, #2)A Lady’s Prerogative by Annabelle Anders
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for my honest review!

I love a good historical romance novel, and Annabelle Anders gave me just that with this book! I haven’t read the first in the series, but I certainly will be soon – and I loved all of the future books hinted at in this one!

There were a few loose ends I wanted filled in more, but overall the love story was so fun and the heat was HOT. Natalie is fun and relatable, while Garrett is everything I like in a hero: tall, dark, and broody. Plus, there’s an adorable puppy. What’s not to love?

Always a smart idea to add in precious animals 😉

Puppies always win me over. And cats. And really any small mammal. Or large mammal for that matter. (A cool horse? An exotic tiger?) Or bird. Or reptile or fish or amphibian. I’m just a sucker for animals, HAHA.

Excellent review. Historical romances are not a genre that I get on with.

They’re one of my favorites! I think when it comes to erotica, I prefer historical. I like how things that seem innocent now had so much meaning then. It creates so much more tension. But to each their own!

Thanks! And yes… I totally judge a romance novel by its cover. 😉
