Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic is “Love Freebie”, so just in time for Valentine’s Day, I’m sharing ten of my favorite ships from books.
10. Dorian + Manon from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas
9. Miles + Henrietta from The Masque of the Black Tulip (the Pink Carnation series) by Lauren Willig
8. Isabel + Gerard from The Stranger I Married by Sylvia Day
7. Ron + Hermione from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
6. Rhys + Feyre from the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas
5. McKenna + Aline from Again the Magic (the Wallflowers series) by Lisa Kleypas
4. Wentworth + Anne from Persuasion by Jane Austen
3. James + Lily from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
2. Darcy + Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
1. Ella + Char from Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
Do you ship any of these couples too? I ship plenty of other pairings from books, even within these same books and series, but these are my Top 10 favorites!
lydiaschoch
Yeah, James and Lily were a wonderful couple.
My TTT .
Kate
I love how they’re portrayed in the series as well as fanfiction.
Whispering Stories
I had to work out what you meant by ‘ships’ never heard relationships called that before :-). We don’t call them that in the UK. I’ve only read the HP books and agree about those relationships.
Kate
I think it’s more of a fandom thing than a dialect thing. We use it more for fictional couples, like when you’re reading a book and want two character to get together you would say, “I ship them so hard!” I think English speakers all over the world use it, but it’s specific to fandom and USUALLY not something I use to talk about real people. 😉

Nice to see some love for Ron and Hermione 🙂 I love Char and Ella too – and Wentworth and Anne!

Amazing post I also ship Ron + Hermione always and I so love James + Lily as well. Thank you so much for sharing your awesome post.

Thank you!!

YES YES YES to this topic and your ships. I’m actually swooning like the dork that I am. FOR REAL THOUGH, TASTE! Also, the fact that you included Dorian and Manon???? YES, PLEASE. I feel like they’re underappreciated in the TOG fandom. (Then again, I don’t follow many people who like the series so they may not be underappreciated!) Great picks all around.
Kate
I still haven’t finished the series so at the point I’m at, they’ve just had some veryyyyy mild flirtation, but I am shipping them HARD. He’s my favorite guy and she’s EASILY my favorite girl in the series. <3 Thank you!!
Robin Loves Reading
First time I heard the word ships with regards to romance. Haven’t read any of these but I definitely could come up with a list of my own.
Kate
Hah, I think it’s a fandom thing from reading too much fanfic growing up.

Such a cute post! Darcy and Elizabeth will always be one of my favorite couples. <3
