Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic is books for my younger self. This could mean “books you wish you had read as a child, books younger you could have really learned something from, books that meshed with your hobbies/interests, books that could have helped you go through events/changes in your life” or something else that fits the prompt. I decided to focus on children’s books I’ve read in the past two years that, had they been around in my childhood, I think I could have benefited from reading or would have enjoyed.
What was your favorite book as a child? Is there a children’s book you read as an adult that really struck you? Comment and let me know.

I read the little prince when I was a child. I love the picture and not understand the bigger meaning of the story. But, when I’m older I read it again. And just suddenly amazed how thoughtful and warming the story is😁. It becomes my favorite☺️

Good list.
My post .

I feel deprived, I didn’t get to read any of these. I grew up on Nancy Drew and Narnia

It’s never too late to dive in! I love a good middle grade read.

I completely agree with Stamped: Racism, Anti-racism, and You! That book would have been an amazing book to have read when I was younger.

I loved reading The Baby-Sitters Club as a kid. Having a graphic novel of it at the time would have been really cool.
Kate
I never read it as a kid, and while I didn’t read a lot of comics (as we called them then, haha), I think the illustrations in this series would have appealed to me!

“The Moon Within” looks beautiful! I’ll have to see if I can find a copy of that. This is a great list 🙂
Kate
It is such a good read!

I love seeing Julián Is a Mermaid on your list! I didn’t even think of it while I was writing my own post, or I would have included it, too.
Kate
It’s so good 💜

My cousin bought The Kissing Hand for my daughter 🙂

I just read Stamped and I really wish that it was around back when I was in high school. That would have been so valuable. Thanks for sharing!

I never read any of these but all the covers are lovely, I’ve always wanted to join in on the meme but I don’t have a great imagination 🙈
Kate
I like it because it forces me to get imaginative – and I skip plenty of weeks that don’t speak to me. 🙂

I feel like I missed out on the Babysitter’s Club. It was never big in SA
Dedra @ A Book Wanderer
I did not read The Babysitter’s Club as a child, but my husband did. Ha! He shared copies with his little sister. I always feel left out when he talks about them. 😉 Stamped is a great choice!
