Hi all and happy Wednesday!
This week I’m talking about why I started my blog. This is a prompt I gleaned from “101 Blog Post Ideas” by Jo Linsdell. I started this blog a few years ago, then came back in 2020 with a rebrand of sorts.
I started this blog because of my passion for reading. A few years ago, I created a bookstagram account. Since its creation, my account, @bitchbookshelf, has turned into more of a bookish lifestyle account. I mostly post about books, but also my planner, what wine I’m drinking, and more. As much as I like taking pictures, the written word is more of my forte. I decided to create a book blog to continue to hold myself accountable to read more and to connect with other book bloggers. This blog has also been useful for sharing my plans for library programs.
Overall, Bitch Bookshelf is a hobby of mine. I don’t really make an income, but I have a lot of fun with it. It’s sort of like a portfolio of my book reviews and library program plans with some other fun things thrown into the mix. I love writing and reading, and here I can combine my passions.
Why did you start blogging?

Free books, baby.

YES 🙌 THE NUMBER ONE BENEFIT 🤣
Whispering Stories
I started after I was reading a lot of books and putting my reviews on Goodreads etc and thought about putting them somewhere that was mine. The hubby actually bought me the website for Valentines day in 2015.
