Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s theme is Book Quotes that Fit X Theme. I thought about what theme I wanted to use for a while and finally decided just to share book quotes that I love.

I am half agony. Half hope.

Persuasion by Jane Austen

Don’t let the hard days win.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

When adults say, “Teenagers think they are invincible” with that sly, stupid smile on their faces, they don’t know how right they are. We need never be hopeless, because we can never be irreparably broken. We think that we are invincible because we are. We cannot be born, and we cannot die.

Looking for Alaska by John Green

It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling

It is helpful to know the proper way to behave, so one can decide whether or not to be proper.

Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine

There is the darkness that frightens, the darkness that soothes, the darkness that is restful.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.

Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell

For you, a thousand times over.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
