Today, I’m sharing my most popular posts for the season of Winter 2020/2021. In order to schedule posts ahead, I have decided to define the season by months rather than dates, so these posts were published on or between June 1, 2021 and August 31, 2021. Note: I began a semi-hiatus towards the end of summer.

10. Children’s Books I Read in the First Half of 2021
Since I don’t share all of my children’s book reads on this blog, this post is for sharing the ones I read in the first half of 2021. I read way more than “normal” for me this year due to a work project, so I am only sharing 5 star reads. I’ll break things down into the categories of picture books, early and young readers, and middle grade books. I’ll link back to any posts on this blog where I featured these books, too. I’ll also link you directly to the purchase link for my absolute favorites on this list. If you have a child in your life or just like to read books for a younger crowd, this post is for you!
9. June 2021 in Review
June was honestly an excellent month for me both as a reader (though mostly I got work reading done) and in my personal life. I had some fun times and I am planning to move in less than a year, so I’m getting ready for that. I really am looking forward to what the future has in store for me.
8. Suddenly You by Lisa Kleypas Review
I loved the heat level in this book but overall it just didn’t do it for me. We finally find out there is an age gap between these characters but it’s not that big of one, I think 25 and 30. If the gender roles were reversed, no one would consider that an age gap. And I’m 31 and wouldn’t consider dating a 26-year-old an age gap.
7. #BookishAstrology – Books We Chose for #Gemini Season
Gemini Season has come to an end, and with it the second round of my #BookishAstrology challenge. Each month on Instagram, I am sharing four astrology-themed prompts for whichever sign the sun is in or will enter shortly. I started off in late 2020 with Capricorn, and was so happy to have a few bookstagram friends join me on my adventure. Let’s look at the prompts and which books they chose for each week!
6. Beard Science by Penny Reid Review
Honestly, this one didn’t live up to my expectations. The plot felt a little all over the place, but I guess that opened things up for the spin-off series. I really do love Jenn and Cletus though. Jenn has excellent character development and really comes into her own in this one, while Cletus remains as intelligent and unique as ever. Because I loved the characters so much, even if this book wasn’t my favorite, this was a 4 star read for me.
5. Verity by Colleen Hoover Review
Verity is creepy, disturbing, and gripping. I will note that the erotic scenes may take some readers by surprise, but I enjoyed them. They only added to the conflicting emotions and sensations Lowen is experiencing. Of course, there’s a few final twists, and though I figured out some, others took me by surprise. I’m left wondering if everything is how it seemed in the epilogue, or whether Verity was really and truly playing the long game with her readers, husband, and even Lowen.
4. Top Ten Tuesday: Reasons Why I Love Reading
This week’s theme is Reasons Why I Love Reading. I could go on and on with this prompt, but in the true TTT spirit, I’ll limit myself to 10 reasons!
3. 6 Useful Resources for Book Bloggers
Today I’m sharing some useful resources for book bloggers. From eARC sites to blog tour hosts to link ups to directories, book bloggers have many options to turn to when they need ideas, ARCs, or places to connect with others. This is a prompt I gleaned from “101 Blog Post Ideas” by Jo Linsdell – so of course, you might find her website on this list…
2. 5 Bookworm Problems
Bookworms are constantly adding books to their TBR, or To Be Read, list. There are simply too many books out there to read in one human lifespan, and true bookworms will never get finish their TBR list. It is forever growing, and for each book finished, ten more are added to the list.
1. Our Favorite 2021 Reads So Far
Recently I asked on Twitter for reviews written by my book blogger friends featuring their favorite reads of 2021 so far. These encompass books read in the first half of 2021, whether or not they were published this year. Here’s what we shared!
Thank you for reading my book reviews and other bookish posts and supporting my blog!
