I haven’t read anything by Sarina Bowen or Lauren Blakely but I was so happy to get to read a book by both of them at the same time when I read The Best Men. This is an opposites attract romance with a lot of steam and heart.

The summary, from Amazon:

Bestselling authors Sarina Bowen and Lauren Blakely team up for the first time in an enemies-to-lovers, opposites-attract, irresistibly sexy standalone romance between the best man and the other best man!

In my defense, I was left alone with a bottle of single-malt and a life-long penchant for protecting my baby sister. Still, that’s no excuse to send ten drunk-texts on why her hasty marriage would be a mistake.

If only I had just texted my sister. But nope. I accidentally sent the message to her, her groom, and his super hot wingman.

I also used the phrase “super hot wingman,” so I’d like to die now.

Instead, I have to plan a wedding with the aforementioned hottie and share a too-small guesthouse in steamy Miami.

Three days in the sun with the cocky, charming former athlete who likes to push my buttons? Fine, two can play at that let’s-infuriate-each-other game.

Until Asher ups the stakes with one wildly sexy suggestion. A no-strings fling, then I go back to my single dad life in New York, and he returns to his star-studded one.

Sign me up.

But the more nights I spend with the other best man, the more I want days too, and that just can’t happen. Especially when I find out the real reason why…

Contents Include: First times, a secret to-do list, champion-level flirting, fast cars, #eggplants, and two men who look good in formal wear.

In The Best Men, Mark sends a drunk text to his sister shortly before her wedding, hating on the groom and talking about how hot the groom’s best friend, Asher, is. Asher is a former soccer superstar turned photographer and a playboy. Mark is a divorced Wall Streeter raising his child and being supportive to his ex-wife, who doesn’t often return the favor. Mark grovels to his sister and her fiance in the aftermath of his deranged text message, and to make it up to them agrees to travel out to their destination venue in Miami to make sure everything is ready for the big day. Of course, he’s doing so with the other best man, Asher. The close proximity causes sparks to fly, and the two agree on a short term fling that quickly leads to something more. But Asher has a great job opportunity abroad on the horizon. Is turning this casual relationship into a long distance partnership something they’re both able to do?

This was a funny, charming, and sexy read with two memorable leads. I loved the representation of Mark being openly bi. The humor had me laughing out loud at times. Mark, ever organized, keeps spreadsheets, including one about all the sexual fantasies he wants to try. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and rate it at 4 stars.
